Latin America IPR SME Helpdesk
Eurochile is part of the European Commission’s Latin America Intellectual Property Rights SME Helpdesk project, which was created by the General Directorate for Research and Innovation (COSME programme).
The aim of this project is to “facilitate the expansion of European SMEs interested in operating in Latin America through a greater knowledge of the use and enforcement of the intellectual property system and IPR rights”. The project includes several activities that directly benefit Latin American SMEs.
The project provides guiding and support services for European SMEs with regards to intellectual property right in Latin America through workshops, information material and a direct contact through a helpdesk.
Eurochile along with the Technological Institute of Monterrey (Mexico) and Brazilian law firm Dannemann lead the project in the region with regards to information activities and networking.
The specific objectives of the project are:
- Increasing cooperation opportunities between European and Latin American SMEs.
- Integrate different aspects related to the support for internationalization, research and innovation in companies that have already been promoted by other initiatives.
- Provide specific information regarding two Latin American countries: Brazil and Mexico.
