Trade Mission Chile ConnectEO 2022 ends successfully

The event was held remotely between Tuesday 28th and Thursday 30th of June and was attended by different speakers from the public and private sectors who presented their issues to European companies.

Last Thursday, the Trade Mission Chile ConnectEO ended. An event held within the framework of the European ConnecEO project, which aims to promote cooperation between Chile/Australia and European Earth Observation (EO) services and products in the maritime and agricultural sectors. The project is led by the EARSC Consortium and co-financed by the European Union under the COSME Cluster Go International programme.

The event lasted three days, and different presentations and networking spaces were held between national entities and 19 European companies that were beneficiaries of the project. The topics discussed during these days were related to sustainability and innovation, natural disaster management, access to data, sources of financing, intelligent agriculture were addressed, software for crop management and collaboration opportunities between Chile and Europe, among others.

The opening of the first day was attended by authorities from the Delegation of the European Union in Chile, the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC) and Eurochile. Afterwards, entities such as, InvestChile, Prochile and Corfo, among others were part of the programme that was structured in 5 different modules, and which gave an overview of both the maritime and the agriculture sectors and their trends.

The second day was focused on the agricultural sector. The event was attended by professionals from the Agricultural Research Institute (INIA); from the Office of Agrarian Studies and Policies (ODEPA); of the Agricultural Innovation Foundation (FIA); of the National Society of Agriculture Union Federation (SNA); of the southern company West Engineering Ltda. and of the Chilean Air Force.

Finally, on Thursday, June 30th – last day of the event – was focused on the maritime sector. Speakers from different national entities from the sector were present, such as Intesal; Global Sea Consulting; the Asociación de Armadores de Transporte Marítimo, Fluvial, Lacustre y Turístico Sur Austral de Chile (ARMASUR A.G); the Asociacion Nacional de Armadores A.G. (ANA); the Fisheries Development Institute (IFOP); the Chilean Air Force and the National Emergency Office of the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security (ONEMI).

B2B ConnectEO open until 12th of July

Given the success of the Trade Mission Chile and the great interest that has arisen from companies and entities to meet, it was decided to extend the date of the B2B Matchmaking Event ConnectEO.

The platform that connects Chile with Europe and that allows networking spaces to be generated for future collaborations will be open until July 12.
