1. What is EuroChile?
The EuroChile Business Foundation is a non-profit, private organization created by the State of Chile and the European Union in 1992 to generate, promote and strengthen economic, commercial and technological ties between businessmen from member countries of the European Union and Chilean businessmen and institutions both private and public.

2. Why export to the European Union?
The EU is the world’s largest market with 490 million potential consumers besides being one of the most developed regions as regards environmental regulations, technological innovation and economic development, going hand in hand with social responsibility.
In the case of Chile, in addition to these advantages there are opportunities offered by the Association Agreement with the EU, in force since 2003, which establishes a free trade zone without any tariffs or non-tariff measures, only excluding some agricultural and fishing industries. This opens up the possibility of increasing agro-industrial exports and developing industrial ones as well as enabling service industries to expand their activities.
To develop our country, export potential is fundamental because of the limited size of the Chilean market. Exports also enable Chileans to face seasonal variations in demand. On the other hand, any increase in production means less unit costs.

3. Why should I consider Europe when trying to optimize my company’s output?
In a global marketplace, ever increasing demands are made upon exportable products. In this sense, the EU is a pioneer in standards regarding quality and efficiency, thus making it an interesting partner for those, in Chile, wishing to compete under the best possible conditions.
The globalization of your company includes a wide range of activities that contribute towards its competitiveness, besides exports.
Imports –especially capital goods, the search for foreign partners, access to new technologies and the introduction of good business practices are only a few of the measures that will give you an edge in both domestic as well as international markets.
Incorporating technologies into small and medium-sized businesses improves the efficiency of your output, making them less costly and of better quality.

4. Can EuroChile sponsor my seed capital project?
Yes, as long as it is an innovative project with the capability of attracting European markets and capital, and is of interest of both private and public interest, meaning that it encompasses a wide coverage when promoting territories and/or industries around sustainable social and economic objectives.

5. What kind of services does EuroChile offer?
EuroChile fosters economic, commercial and technological cooperation between businessmen and institutions in the European Union and Chile through three main areas: business promotion, know-how transfer and project development.
Moreover, EuroChile periodically advertises commercial opportunities in its newsletter and on its website.

6. What is required for taking part in business encounters?
All Latin American companies legally constituted in accordance with the laws of their respective countries can take part in an international trade fair together with EuroChile, as long as they submit the subscription form that is published for each event.

7. What are the benefits of taking part?
When participating in our business encounters, you will get to know European counterparts interested in your business and receive advice and logistical assistance.
The globalization of small and medium-sized businesses fostered by EuroChile materializes by means of Chilean companies taking part in trade fairs, business meetings and training courses in different areas.
The experience of getting to know international markets enables you to access tools aimed at improving the quality of your products and innovating technologically, besides improving the management of your own business.
Ultimately, this brings globalization that directly benefits your business.
